What art does to homosexuality
An intuitive message comes when creating gay art, perhaps it is playful, calming, erotic, disturbing, political or even sacred. Art makes us flirt with the issues and experiences the gay and lesbian community faces in everyday life. Art helps the gay and lesbian communities to speak up about their problems, because art allows freedom to explore the inner selves of people and the thoughts they hide.

True, art allows freedom to gay and lesbian communities to depict their inner selves and hidden thoughts, but I believe that one has to be gay or lesbian to thoroughly understand their art works.
