The Trend of Gay Theme Comics

The concept of using gay themes in comics is new, as the gay characters were often ommited purposely from the content of comic books due to censorship or the perception that comics are only for children.
The mention of homosexuality in US comics were forbidden by the Comics Code Authority (CCA) until 1989. Since the 1990, gay themes have become more common in US comics. The contents of those comics featured more gay main characters and portrayed them as the stars or heros. The lack of censorship and greater acceptance of gay theme comics led to less controversy about the representation of gay characters.

  1. Homosexuality in comics should be forbidden as it might lead children to follow up.
